How I Hit The Essence Magazine Best Sellers List Seven Times

I have A. D. D. (Attention Deficit Disorder), graduated high school with a 1.7 gpa and spent a few years in college only to receive a 0.0 gpa on my transcript. The odds were against me from the very beginning and yet I managed to hit Essence Magazine best sellers list SEVEN times!

In this video, I’m going to answer some of the top questions I get asked as it relates to my journey from self-publishing my poetry to landing a publishing deal that got my books in bookstores nationwide.

If you have more questions that I didn’t answer, leave them in the comments below and as always, thanks for reading and watching:)

Because I want you to believe in yourself.
HARDER than you ever thought possible.

Saula, I’m not sure where you are in your writing journey, but the most important piece of advice I can give is to just finish WHATEVER it is you start!

Hello Tiphani,
I just want to say your videos were very informational and inspirational. I just finished my first self-published Erotic Fiction novel titled “Miles Away Torn Apart” and you were right it does take money and time but I feel it is all worth it. I released it back in June and right now it’s online at Barnes and Noble and Amazon. I also sent it out to some other book vendors and distributors like C & B books and Afrikan World Books and Urban Knowledge bookstores. It’s really challenging trying to promote your book, but I’m up for it I loved writing because it was always my outlet to the things I had to go through growing up. I just want to say thanks for the words of encouragement and I’m letting you know I am trying. Thanks Tamika

Really great information about your journey. Thank you for taking the time to share your wisdom and tips. All of the information was really informative and helpful. I am currently in the process of having my first book “God’s Girl: A Daily Word to Encourage Women to Live Out Their Purpose” published through a publishing agency. I have another book idea but wanted to look into self publishing so I really appreciate you sharing your experience. The idea about creating a character resume prior to beginning a book was invaluable! You and I seem to be motivated by the same thing-not wanting to work a “regular job”. I will let the desire to call my own shots push me even when I have too much on my plate. Congratulations on your success and many blessings to you now and always!
